Solo Travellers Guide - Bangkok

When I first visited Thailand, I had no idea where to start planning my Solo trip. Bangkok city spread across with vibrant colors and filled with foreigners from all over the world. Like most of us began our research through Internet, I'm no exception. Trying to find the best places to visit, stay and explore in Bangkok.

I'm just going to keep it short and crisp of my very own Solo experience in Bangkok.

1. Accommodation
2. Place Recommendation
3. Learn Basic Thai
4. Food & Culture

1.1 Spades Hostel

Starting with the hostels, I checked into Spades hostel, it is one of the posh hostels, I have come across with lovely interiors and the place is spick and span. If you're looking for peace and no disturbance then Spades is the one for you.

The market, local food, massage centers are all nearby and are easily accessible by walk. The interaction between travelers is less in this hostel. It is suitable for people who love spending quality time with oneself.

1.2 Hostel 16

The hostel 16 is one of my best experiences so far. You can interact with different nationalities from all over the world. The host is friendly and will guide you in all possible ways to explore Bangkok by serving the best local cuisines at an affordable price.

2.1 Pratunam Market

This is one of the famous whole sale market in Bangkok which is well known for clothing, shoes, bags, cosmetics, souvenirs, colorful lights and much more. A long stretch, where both the sides of the road is filled with variety of things to empty your pockets at an affordable rate. The market is located near to BTS Chit lom metro station which makes it easily accessible to a lot of tourist.

2.2 Khao San Road

The road is fun-filled with shopping, neon lights, bars, loud music and a lot of entertainment. You can try different things like braiding your hair with the color of your choice, get a tattoo, shop till you drop, eat street food and try their exotic scorpions, watch street dancers perform live  and meet people from all over the world

2.3 Major Cineplex Sukhmvit

The feeling of watching movie all by yourself in itself is a different experience all together. Major Cineplex Sukhmvit is a comfortable, clean and elegant looking place where if you have some time in Bangkok, then should go and watch a movie. It is located near to BTS Ekamai station.

2.4 Night Markets

The concept of night market is pretty compelling. It’s spread across various places in Thailand like Bangkok, Pattaya & Phuket. The main attraction of these markets are their small lightings with individual tent shaped stalls offering variety of local cuisines, wines, beer and live band for merriment.

3.1 Learn Basic Thai

In Thailand the first and foremost thing that you need to know is that English is not widely spoken. Brush over your basics in Thai is an added advantage to make your travel hassle-free, I highly recommend to go through these basic Thai words for your day to day survival in  Thailand.
