10 best things to try in Thailand

THAI MASSAGE

Thai massage is the shining light in the spa spectrum of Thailand. Thai massage experience that can help you quickly get into the rhythm of the country, as well as relax your mind and soothe any pain you may have. In central Bangkok, Sukhumvit Road has many outlets but if you are looking for a genuine massage only center, I would recommend TONY THAI MASSAGE. It is one of the most economical Thai Massage Centers in Bangkok City.  As is well known, visiting Thailand without getting massaged, is worthless a journey.  Every nook and corner of Thailand cities and townships, you find massage parlors

A hell of a lot varieties of massages are available from head to heal.  From cheap roadside massages to authentic star facility massages to suit your pocket and taste.  Men, women and lady boys - all are available for the service.  It is up to you to choose.  You will not miss them, as the massage parlors are well illuminated and masseurs are lined up in colorful attires to lure you.  Some of them will grab you and force you inside their parlors.  Many a times, you will be lured by attractive masseurs and end up getting massaged by not so attractive masseur, who normally will be sitting inside, waiting for the grabs.  You may insist on your selection of masseur from the bunch outside.  From 30 minutes to a couple of hours time slot you can select.

Famous and popular ones are foot massage, head massage, full body oil massage, aroma therapy with steam, etc.  After several hours of window shopping and stray walks through the busy market area, a good foot massage will melt away all your leg pains.  They use pain balm, cream,  aromatic oil for the massage so that you will get relief from the pain, relax from the hot and humid outside weather walk and its fatigue.  From 100 bahts to a couple of thousand bahts they charge, depending upon the area and class of service and facilities.  I have enjoyed the medium ranged foot massages several times, as my journey consist of plenty of street walking.

NAIL PAINT

To get manicure and pedicure, Bangkok has a fair share of Nail Salons and Nail Spas. Yet when it comes to over - the-top, quirky-designed nail art, very few shops are daring enough to take the art of nail makeover to another level.

When in Thailand, I tried to get the most out of the place by going to each and every nook and corner to experience something new each time. These were the most alluring nail art I came across with a UV LED light nail dryer.  Gel will dry faster in 30-35 seconds in this type of dryer, compared to conventional dryer, which may take 8 - 10 minutes.

Speciality of this nail paint is that it would last for a month

Location: Victory point near Victory monument.

 GRABTAXI/BIKE Vs TUK TUK

TUK TUK is a mode of  transport which is so colorful with music and lights.  A three wheeler vehicle; 3 people can travel comfortably, sometime more, according to the driver and area.  Of course it is fun to travel in Tuk Tuk.  You will feel like you are riding a horse cart in the streets. It is highly necessary to agree on the price before you start your ride, otherwise, the Tuk Tuk driver will literally 'take you for a ride'.  If you are a budget traveler, I wouldn't recommend it because the charges are on higher side.  Just for some thrilling experience, it is better to take a few rides.  It is a pleasant feeling, I bet.

Grab Taxi is everywhere in the city.  Grab taxis are also so colorful, in almost all main colors, you name it.  You need to install Grab App, where you can identify the photo of your driver before the ride.  It is a metered taxi and there is no bargaining or skirmishes at the end of ride.  Below 100 KM ride, Grab Taxi will not cut your pocket considerably.  For short distance travel below 50 KM, Grab Bike also available aplenty.  If you are single and looking for a quick ride to nearby place, choose Grab Bike.  To cut through the traffic, nothing better than a bike ride.

For Budget Travellers, the best alternative to TUK TUK is Grab Taxi.  It is absoulutely convenient, safe and economical.

If you are a Solo Traveller, I would definitely recommend GrabBike

CAFE AMAZON

I'm very lucky to have the ability to sit down, relax, read, study and enjoy my favorite cup of tea, i.e. Green tea or  Thai Milk Tea. Cafe Amazon is one joint, I genuinely love their atmosphere, sitting and dining. Trip Adviser has rated 4 out of 5 and one of the best rated restaurant chains in Thailand by the Tourism sector.  Truly special and inspirational-it's a lush tropical atmosphere to choose from with various kinds of chairs and desks.  During the non peak hours, generally, it is not crowded which gives the personal space which I need at times.  Around 3000 outlets are up and running only in Thailand.

Cafe Amazon, the popular joint, must be in every tourists to do list.

MUAY THAI

Muay Thai is the National sport of Thailand.  This interesting Thai boxing was my first live boxing match experience. Muay Thai is a full-contact martial art in which two competitors fight with their fists, elbows, knees, shins and legs and matches are very intense.  Muay Thai is an extremely dangerous martial art, that features terrifying knee and elbow strikes.

Since it is the national sport, the multiple shows are available in all major cities of Thailand - Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Ayuthaya, Chiang Mai, Kanchanaburi, Sukhothai and Krabi.  We can see the hoarding advertisements and posters of the game and its fighters' pictures all over the cities and its corners.  Fierce marketing by way of loud speaker  announcements also we encounter many a times for forthcoming matches.  Muay Thai fighters have got a complete athletic physique, thanks to their intense training, which requires flexibility and muscles all over the body.  Fame, money and power attract many Thai youths into this powerful martial art.

It was a dynamic feeling. There was energy, aggression, passion and a lot of cheering it just made my day :

This is a truly special night market and certainly worth a visit. It's a complete stretch with colorful tents and plethora of  things to explore. You can literally buy almost anything here, including clothing, shoes, handbags, toys, vintage and antique textiles, as well as street food, such as crispy chicken, shrimp, octopus, watermelon smoothie, mango juice, ice cream etc and funky bars where you can sit and grab a beer and play some pool.

There are 3 Train markets all over Thailand.  However, Ratchada, Din Daeng, Bangkok  is one of the major night markets.  An authentic Thai market with a vintage look.  It is better to book in advance with Tour Operators, if you plan to visit the market.  Generally, the market is open from 5 pm to 1 am.  Shopaholics will have a gala time and the foodies can drool around the street foods, available abundantly.

SRIRACHA TIGER ZOO

It was absolutely scary, but ecstatic experience for us to explore this resplendent space called Sriracha Tiger Zoo. It has many attractions including the Elephant Show, Pig Racing, Crocodile Show, Scorpions, Tigers, Cubs and a display of life-size flora and fauna statues. Sriracha is such a colorful and beautiful place that it is worth visiting if you have half a day in Bangkok or Pattaya.  Zoo is located on the way to Pattaya from Bangkok around 100 KMs and .  Zoo is quite vast.. around 400000 sqm.  There are many tour operators available for taking you to the Zoo.  You can grab a cab and visit the place.
