1. Khao Man Gai (Chicken Rice)
Khao Man Gai is very
popular throughout Southeast Asia. A relatively
simple tasting common food, not too strong in taste or spice (other than
sauce). You can't walk more than a few blocks in Thailand, especially
Bangkok, without finding a chicken rice cart or a restaurant, which serves Khao
Man Gai. It consists of Chicken, Rice, Soup and Sauce, served in Thai
style. All over Thailand you can see, people enjoy this Chicken Rice
combination food.

This is quite a popular street food in
Thailand. It is a famous dish in North
Thailand. If you love eating spicy
food, then it should definitely be on your hog list. One of my survival foods
during my 45 days journey. In 15 minutes time, you can stir fry Thai
Basil Chicken, easy to make and favorite in a quick mouth watering dinner.
In India, we are quite acquainted to
eating spices, basil chicken definitely gave me the flavor of India, which I
was craving for, in Thailand, where people generally eat non spicy food.

Spicy Papaya Salad is available in
virtually every Thai restaurant you go to, and is frequently available on the
street and in the market areas. The taste of the salad is sweet, sour and tangy
and is a must have, if you're a shrimp lover. Main ingredient Papaya is a
source of Vitamin C, B, potassium, magnesium, etc, which is good for digestion.
The Salad is made out of fresh lime juice, sugar, fish sauce, shrimp, garlic,

summers. This strongly brewed black tea spiced with tamarind, star anise,
cardamom, etc. The brew is sweetened with condensed milk, sugar and
topped with lots of ice. A best bet to withstand the hot and humidity

This is something which I would never
forget in my life. It was like a nice surprise. My country flag on my plate
hehehe.. A feel good factor - home away from home. It was something which I
never expected. This is one of the restaurants in Chatuchak market Toh Plue joint, which is damn crowded with
tourists. What was extraordinary about this place was their food presentation.
Simple food yet it looked quite elegant and classy.
Pad Thai is available in vegetarian and
non vegetarian varieties. I have chosen for Vegetarian, which is a
combination of Noodles, Rice, Vegetables and Tofu. A medium spicy dish
for Vegetarian survival food, which is available in most townships of Thailand.
Vegetable Fried Rice was also a spicy
street food, largely available in most of Thailand areas including cities and
townships. However, villages and interior provinces, vegetarian people
will take a beating. Fried Rice is prepared with finely chopped
spring onions, baby corns, green bell pepper, red curry paste and crushed red
chilly. With already prepared semi boiled rice, easy to mix with
vegetables and stir fry with oil lavishly. Fried Rice also comes with
meat, fish and chicken varieties.

Full Moon wine cooler is worth a drink if you're
looking for something alcoholic but not that intoxicating to drink. You can find such refreshing drink in Thailand's night markets. Full Moon is a Thai spirit with 5% alcohol and very light drink for your thirst. I enjoyed the drink in an open space at Sukhumvit, where melodious Celine Dion music was on for public for free in a commercial area. Wine cooler comes with red, white and rose flavors. The singer and music troupe were quite professional to enthrall the crowd, who cheered the troupe quite often.
