Wat Arun Ratchavararam

This magnificent Buddhist temple was built from more than a million ceramic tiles rescued from a British shipwreck.

Wat Arun, locally known as Wat Chaeng, is a landmark temple on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. It's definitely one of Bangkok's most beautiful temples, not only because of its riverside location but also because the architecture is very different from the other temples you can visit in the Thai capital. Wat Arun (nicknamed the 'Dawn Temple') consists partly of colorful decoration.

WAT ARUN TEMPLE

One of the best times to see the Wat Arun temple is at sunset or sunrise from the east side of the river when the light bounces off its central spire, which is decorated with colorful porcelain and topped with a seven-sided trident also known as the "Trident Of Shiva" and along the base of the trident are sculptures of ancient Chinese soldiers along with animals.

Travellers Tip: Best time to visit this temple would be morning/ evening.
